In the form of fitness that we try to build using the CrossFit methodology, we want to improve on ten general physical skills:

Balance is important as it demonstrates the control in the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base. This is obviously important as we grow older, but it improves function and athleticism in sports and activities as well. Slack lining isn’t just for college kids! Try it out and feel the deep burn in the hips!

– We will be working on perfecting the two handed swing and increasing the weight of our swings.
– Lunges, presses and single leg deadlifts will be added to make sure we are still working with asymmetrical loads to build a strong core.

We had three teams compete at the 2017 Battle At the Ballpark at Safeco field, followed by the beer garden and the game.

On the agenda this week: the return of back squats, push press/tuck jumps, kettlebell snatches/toes-to-bar/box jumps, practice with the still rings, the retest of “Easy Plate”, deadlifts/burpees/cleans, the wrap-up of the deadlift cycle with a day to test your 1-rep maximum deadlift, the hero workout “RYAN”, a CrossFit Team Series workout, and finally a birthday celebration workout for Moonboots!

Chief Petty Officer Nate Hardy was killed Sunday February 4th during combat operations in Iraq. Nate is survived by his wife, Mindi, and his infant son Parker.

U.S. Army First Lieutenant Dimitri Del Castillo, 24, of Tampa, Florida, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, died on June 25, 2011, in Kunar province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire. He is survived by his wife Katie, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Carlos E. Del Castillo, his brother Carlos Andres and sister Anna.
